Gathered for a photgraph at the recent HDS Alumni Reunion Day are Lisa Kahn Chisholm, Karen Bierman Moreno, Melanie Berman Gluck, and Zachary Shader. Attendees enjoyed conversation over a light brunch, after which they toured the school (commenting on the beautiful new facility). The event ended as Alumni and friends joined the student body in a special Kabbalat Shabbat led by Beth Schafer.
WATCH FOR THE NEXT ALUMNI DAY DURING SPRING BREAK!!

Hello from St. Petersburg, Russia! My name is Matt Fieldman, and I'm an alumnus from the class of 1990. It may sound crazy, but my wife Alyson and I are spending the year volunteering for the Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) here in St. Petersburg. We work six days a week to build the Jewish community here, which is experiencing a renaissance following 80 years of Communism. I like to joke that I received the best Jewish education money can buy: the HDS, then Camp Ramah (Palmer and then Darom), numerous activities with University of Florida Hillel, a USY trip to Poland and Israel, and more! The HDS gave me a tremendous sense of Jewish community, and I've dedicated my professional career to helping develop the global Jewish community through my work at The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington (DC), Hillel, and now the JDC. It has been quite an adjustment, overcoming the language barrier, cultural misunderstandings, and a harsh Russian winter!
